Leave your 9 to 5 desk job and travel the world, sip cocktails and lay on the beach, laptop in hand, making money. Sounds great, right? ๐Ÿ๏ธ Well, the idea of being a digital nomad has sparked excitement and groups have been popping up around the Internet to offer and even sell advice on how to make the life-change.

In fact, estimates show that there will be around 1 billion digital nomads by the year 2035. ๐ŸŒThough this is a significant number a lot of people ask themselves...

"How do I get started?"

One industry which hasn't yet really been explored in this sphere is language teaching.  The amazing thing about language is that like all โ€˜digital' information, itโ€™s compact; fitting right inside your head! Completely portable, it adds nothing to your baggage allowance, yet it is, in fact, a huge asset.

Global figures show that the English language industry is booming-  People around the globe are learning English โ€” not just as a hobby โ€” but out of economic necessity. Itโ€™s projected that by 2020 two billion people will be speaking or learning English. Especially in China, where analysts predict a steady 12-15% growth rate over the next few years.

Online teaching is an option but the marketplace is convoluted and itโ€™s difficult to establish yourself. More importantly, we really believe there is something special about learning face-to-face. And for those who want to travel and really experience a new culture, teaching or sharing languages in person is so much more genuine and rewarding than teaching through a screen.

This is where Grasp comes in handy ๐Ÿ‘‹ - we want to connect traveling and teaching. Why not take your language with you and unpack it wherever you land? ๐Ÿ›ฌ Meet amazing locals eager to become your students, and perhaps even finance your trip.

Grasp aims to provide a free and open peer-to-peer community where teachers can place themselves on our global map, showcase themselves easily and get requests for lessons directly. We donโ€™t take a transaction fee and let you handle payment. We want to make this process as simple and direct as possible without the involvement of middlemen and bureaucracy.

However, we are teachers and educators ourselves, so we know that teaching is a skill, which also needs to be learned. So Grasp also aims to become an extensive hub where teachers can share resources and knowledge.  We are currently adding great teaching materials to our resource section. They're completely free so check them out now! ๐Ÿ“š
